The spice world's answer to bacon
Smoked paprika (also known as pimentón in Spain) is a spice made from smoked and dried bell peppers, ground into a fine powder. Depending on the type of pepper (sweet or hot), smoked paprika can vary in heat, but its main flavor is smoky and rich, rather than burning like chili.
Just half a teaspoon of this red powder adds depth and richness to your dishes when sprinkled, added to marinades, or incorporated during cooking. Smoked paprika brings an umami flavor to your meals, much like stock, broth, or bacon.
You can use Smoked Sweet Paprika in:
- Grilled foods & BBQ – Perfect for marinades, rubs, and BBQ sauces.
- Soups & stews – Adds depth to stews like Chili con Carne.
- Eggs & potatoes – Great in scrambled eggs and on baked potatoes.
- Tapas & Spanish dishes – Often used in patatas bravas and paella.
- Vegetarian dishes – Adds a smoky flavor to plant-based meals.
First in Denmark
Mill & Mortar were the first in Denmark to introduce ORGANIC Smoked Sweet Paprika. After years of searching, we found an organic variety of our popular smoked paprika – a small producer in the La Vera region of Extremadura, Spain, who has a limited production of organic sweet (Dulce) paprika, and we were fortunate enough to secure a partnership with them.
