Five Spice Cookies

COOKIES (15 pieces)

Five Spice is a magical blend that brings warmth and depth to both sweet and savory dishes. A mix of star anise, cinnamon, fennel, cloves, and Sichuan pepper, this spice blend creates a unique balance of sweetness, spice, and a hint of warmth. In these cookies, it beautifully enhances the rich dark chocolate and hearty oats, making each bite an irresistible fusion of flavors.

INGREDIENTS

150 g brown sugar
75 g soft butter
70 g dark chocolate
1 egg
100 g all-purpose flour
50 g rolled oat
1 tsp Five Spice
1 pinch of salt

DIRECTIONS

In a bowl, beat brown sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add the egg and mix well. Stir in the flour, oats, Five Spice, and salt until combined.

Roughly chop the dark chocolate and fold it into the dough. Shape the dough into small balls and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Gently press them down slightly.

Bake at 200°C (390°F) for about 8 minutes, until the edges turn golden brown. Let the cookies cool slightly before indulging in their chewy, chocolatey, and spiced goodness.

Enjoy!
